I listened to most of this book on audible then read the last 3rd of it on kindle and I wish I had read the whole thing on kindle because I probably would've enjoyed it more. I don't really have to many notes on characters or anything. Saeris is miraculously good at fighting and I just didn't see her that way at all so it was a little off putting. I wish we were able to see her grow into that sort of strong character a little more rather than it being right off the bat. Kingfisher is Kingfisher. Not many notes on him either. Fantasy wasn't too hard to understand but that's the good thing with fantasy, if you don't really fully understand things you kind of just make them up. The whole idea of quicksilver being sentient was off putting and I, to be honest, couldn't tell you why it was.

Overall, not a bad book, but not the best fantasy either. There are fae, magic, vampires, reaallyyy weird creatures. Vibes were good and I enjoyed most of the side characters a decent bit but I would not put this book at 4 stars or above. I hated the way this book ended but it gives me more reason to pick up the second....maybe. We'll see.
